There are many things that confuse me in life. These confusions are included academically or from the outside world. one thing i am very confused about is the fact that people are forced to attend many years of schooling. Children are put into elementary schools, which i feel are important and beneficiary. These schools teach basics things; reading, writing, counting, etc. These are fundamental to development.
Also, middle school is fundamental and is needed for education and development. During these 3 years, young students learn some more advanced mathematics such as algebra. They also begin to learn about world history as well as American history and current events which gives them a sense of the world around them. During these years, students are exposed to one or more sciences.
Where i feel the education system messed up is high school. Yes i agree we need basic classes. We can use more advanced maths, such as geometry, and trigonometry. Yes, i agree sciences should be incorporated like earth science, and biology. And i also agree with the placement of both global and American histories. however, I feel that high school should prepare you for the real/ outside environment. Since in this world and economy now, college is basically a must if you want a career we should be able to chose some type of course work sophomore or junior year of high school that pertains to the major or profession that we want to pursue. Also, tests should be cut down, NOT ELIMINATED, but cut down or changed. Test only "test" our ability to memorize specific topics and do nothing for our long term memory of the subject as a whole. Through 4 years of high school, you basically repeat the same routine over and over and over an over again. And at the end when you get your diploma, you have no idea what to do with it and your "education" becomes useless because no accounting firm or hospital or any other professional work place want only a high school diploma and we are forced to go through ATLEAST another 4 years of college and repeating the same routines over an over and over and over again. The current education system has caused a vicious cycle of uneducated mindless graduates that have no sense of the real world, and it needs to be severely adjusted.

11/12/13 post - Learning Thirst
There is a specific topic that i have a thirst and major interest to learn about. The topic that i would like to learn about is drug legalization. I am currently learning about this topic in my college research class. I am very intrigued by this topic and how it affects the world around me. It not only affects me personally but affects all people around the world.
Drug legalization could make the idea of "hemp" a reality. Hemp is a product that is based off of Marijuana. Marijuana is an illegal drug that is grown as a plant. Users usually smoke Marijuana but some users like to snort or even use needles and shoot up. Street terms for Marijuana include, but are not limited to, pot, loud, dope, green, sticky icky icky, purp, mary jane, reefer, chronic and ganja. This "hemp" product made from this "chronic" will change the world as you and me know it.
Hemp can be made into just about anything you can think of. It can be made into wearable clothing. Hemp can be used as building materials for homes and even industrial size and strength buildings. Hemp can also be used as a fuel! Hemp is biodegradable so it is healthy for the environment. If hemp is utilized, all fossil fuels will be trashed and a clean environment is ahead of us.
